Alright, so for today. My goal is drum roll…….. WATER!!! At work I am going to cut out diet soda and drink at least 4 sixteen ounces cups of water. I’m still gonna do coffee (black with a shot of espresso) because I am not crazy. Water is good for you and I’d like to avoid the sodium in soda. I use sodium free and better zero calorie sweetened soda stream sodas at home. More water in my tumtum means I’ll should feel fuller quicker.
I had a great workout this morning with my trainer. We worked a lot on form. By the end I was slowly getting it. A lifetime of bad form will take more than a day to fix. I am figuring a week or two ;P Also when I started with him, I could hardly do a single sit up. Now, he has got me doing crunches with my knees bent and my ankles crossed and in the air. I am terrible at them, but at least I can bang a few out.
Yeah. It’s been months. I am at the danger point. The last time I lost weight I got cocky. I thought, hey I lost 80 pounds. I look and feel good. I can finish this up myself. NOT! I gained it all back plus 20 more in about a year.
Well, I am at the 80 pound mark again. 20 more to go before I hit my goal. There is some good news and some bad news.
Let’s start with the bad:
The weight loss has slowed. This is my fault. I have not been sticking to the Jenny Craig plan every day. I have been doing stupid things like eating all my snacks the day I pick up my food. I have been supplementing the lack of snacks by having extra snacks at work. Small calorie snacks, but too many.
The good news:
The weight loss hasn’t reversed. I have only had 2-3 weeks with small gains. I also went back to my trainer twice a week and have been hitting the gym 1-2 other times a week. I even started jumping rope.
I also decided to focus on this blog again. I think it will give me the accountability and encouragement I need. I am going to use it to concentrate on things one day at a time (Thanks Bill W). I will blog in the morning and set at least one goal to hit. I will post again at night to say how I did on that goal and any other issues that popped up.
So for now, here’s a current picture on my progress so far. Oh yeah, and I shaved my beard.
Only 5.2 more to go. Let’s see if I keep this rate up. 0.6 * 13 = 7.8 pounds. I doubt I will keep this rate up. At least I am ahead of the curve now.
I am enjoying working out and running every other day. I seem to be in a better mood, and have more energy. Common sense really. Eat less, Move more. Ah durrrrrr! Oh and the following song makes run at a good pace REALLY easy. Thanks Scooter.
I am one day into the challenge. After a BUNCH of activity yesterday, I am no only 5.8 pounds away from my halfway point. I can smell the steak dinner with glazed carrots.
Yesterday I overloaded on activity. I did like 13,000 steps (some of that actual jogging). I worked out. Today I take it easy. Then hit it hard again on Friday.
The gauntlet has been throw. I am pretty close to my half way point through my 100 pound weight loss. I told my friends I wanted to celebrate when I hit 50 pounds down (getting to 220). My friend Nick mentioned that there is a Man Meal on August 29th (last thursday of the month, heh). He was wondering if I could hit my halfway point in 15 days.
I said yes. The weight has been coming off a little slower (as it will) so I am taking the “opportunity” to help bring the loss rate back up. So I have 6.4 pounds to go in 15 days. I can do it and I will do daily morning posts to keep all my readers up to date on my progress.
First, cut some fresh florets and mist them with pam. Next season them to taste (I like salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder) and put them on a cookie sheet, also misted with pam, stem side down. Finally, put them in a 425 degree oven for 20 minutes and YUM! It’s a Jenny Craig free food.
Also, I moved my Jenny Craig appoints to Saturday mornings and this week I was down 3.3 pounds. This train keeps a rollin’.
With the exception of the booze, and the booze induced slice of greasy pizza this week, I feel like I have done a good job. I have not been logging my food. I need to fix that. I have been pretty active, even started to work out a bit.
But… my bathroom scale is not showing lots of movement. I may break even this week. Maybe the doughnut and eating out in the previous weeks with my friend from out of town is finally catching up with me.
We’ll see. I definitely did not go significantly up, I but have not seen the loss I have seen in prior weeks. I am still on goal for losing 40 pounds in 3 months.
I am going to work on a reward/risk with a friend to help motivate me to lose 30 pounds in the 2nd 3 months.
